Terri Martin-Yates

Terri Martin-Yates is a licensed professional counselor and a certified school counselor. She holds a master’s degree in education from UGA with an emphasis in rehabilitation counseling and she completed a master’s certification program at Georgia State University. Terri is a certified trainer in applied cognitive neuroscience and served for over 12 years an advanced level state-approved trainer for Georgia’s early care and learning system. She is an early intervention specialist. 

Terri has enjoyed a long and interesting career in psychology, counseling, and education, and truly has a passion for helping others!  She worked in clinical psychology for much of her career, performing psychological and developmental evaluations in private practice and psychiatric facilities and for over ten years, she shared her love for the social sciences as an academic tutor at a private college in Gainesville, Georgia.

Terri is an experienced public speaker and has presented at national, state and local conferences around the country. She has developed courses and facilitated numerous workshops that offer guidance and strategies for helping individuals with special needs, such as those with autism spectrum disorders, ADHD, or other mental health concerns. Her approach to counseling is solution-focused, incorporating cognitive-behavioral strategies with brain-inspired interventions.

In addition to counseling, Terri currently owns and manages a teaching farm and nature academy near Athens, Georgia dedicated to reminding visitors of the foundations for building healthy brains and bodies. She also serves on the Board of Directors for the Sandy Creek Nature Center and enjoys spending time outdoors with her family and friends. 

Please note, I do not accept insurance, but a monthly super bill will be uploaded to your client portal should you wish to submit for reimbursement. HSA & FSA cards are accepted.
